Allieu (OOR), over the past few days has been on a familiarization and assessment tour in the newly constructed and rehabilitated military and police armouries in the North western and Northern Region of Sierra Leone.

These armouries were built and rehabilitated by SLeNCSA with support from its development partner; Mines Advisory Group (MAG) a UK based humanitarian Non- Governmental Organization assisting Sierra Leone in the Physical Security and Stockpile Management (PSSM) of the arms and ammunition of our military and police forces.

SLENCSA HOLDS TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ONTHE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ARMS TRADE TREATY

Group photo of participants at the ATT implementation workshopGroup photo of participants at the ATT implementation workshopThe Sierra Leone National Commission on Small Arms ( SLeNCSA) in collaboration with Expertise France and its co-implementing partner BAFA has held a two  days workshop from the 22nd to 23rd October 2018 at the new Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.

This workshop was designed to jointly define a roadmap for the implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in Sierra Leone and to give SLeNCSA an opportunity to identify the expectations of Sierra Leone in terms of actions to be engaged in and activities to be performed with the European Union partners.

The outgoing Commissioner Brig. (Rtd) Leslie Modibo Lymon made a brief introduction of the incoming Commissioner, Rtd Brigadier Tamba Allieu. 

According to the Outgoing Commissioner, Brig (Rtd) Tamba R. Allieu has served the Army dedicatedly and gracefully retired this year

SLeNCSAAND SAFERWORLD HOLDS VALIDATION WORKSHOP ON SIERRA LEONE ATT NATIONAL ASSESSMENT REPORT

The workshop, which brought together representatives from relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), took place at the Freetown Golf Club on the 25th September 2018.  The MDAs represented included Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Defence, National Revenue Authority, Public Sector Reform Unit, Office of National Security, Sierra Leone Police, House of Parliament, Sierra Leone Action Network on Small Arms and Sierra Leone National Commission on Small Arms (SLeNCSA).

The Sierra Leone National Commission on Small Arms held their third National Technical Committee meeting of the ECOWAS –EU Small Arms Project on Thursday 13th July 2017.

The Technical Committee meeting brought together representatives from the Military, Sierra Leone Police, Mano River Union and Sierra Leone Action Network on Small Arms.

ACTION ON ARMED VIOLENCE (AOAV) HANDS OVER WEAPON MAKING MACHINEs TO SLENCSA

All small arms and weapons in Sierra Leone are to get unique markings, as in accordance with local and international laws.

This will be achieved through two Mark-3 4 by 4, Styliner electronic weapon marking machines, already received by the Sierra Leone Small Arms Commission (SLeNCSA).
